Hip Replacement Surgery in Delhi

Hip is a stable joint of the human body which comprises of the ball end of femur bone movable in the pelvic bone socket. The ball end of the femur is termed as femoral head and socket present in the pelvis is termed as acetabulum. Synovial fluid is present in the Hip Joint which acts as lubrication to the joint nourishing the cartilage. If the soft tissues present in the hip joint are strained, it may lead to severe pain in the hip joint. If it is less severe, it can be cured using certain medicines and self-help exercises. But if the pain is severe then it is suggestible to consult a doctor for treatment.

On examining by suitable tests like CT scan, X-Ray, and MRI scan, the doctor may suggest you for a hip replacement surgery if the pain is severe and intolerable. Hip replacement surgery involves a procedure in which the doctor surgically removes the diseased or damaged hip joint and replaces it with an artificial joint which is termed as the prosthesis. This artificial joint is made up of a metal or ceramic enabled with a socket and has a liner which is made of metal or plastic. ‘Hip Replacement Surgery’ is recommended only in case of diseased or injured parts of the hip joint and are replaces using artificial parts made of metal or plastic. The main aim of this surgery is to ease the pain in the hip joint, assist in the smooth function of the hip joint and to improve walking and other movements.

After hip replacement surgery, there is a scope for some common problems like blood clots, infection, bone growth beyond the normal limit etc. Though all these risk chances are low after hip replacement surgery compared to before surgery, a little care should be taken to avoid these risks. Physical therapy plays a significant role in this process. Most of them will be able to stand and walk within 24 hours after the operation but also they are suggested to go for some exercises related to muscles surrounding the hip joint. This entire process is named as rehabilitation process which helps to regain the strength and motion.
Though it gets normal within 24 hours, the only limited movement is available for few days after hip replacement surgery. At the initial stage, your hip will be supported by pillows and other suitable devices. You will be given fluids as a substitute to the fluid loss during the surgery. After going for rehabilitation process for some days, you will become normal and most probably you will be recovered in 3-6 months.
